Step 1: Use Android Device Manager (ADM)

This step involves accessing the ADM on your computer. You will then be required to use your Google account details to log in. Once you are logged in, the ADM will track your phone automatically and even display its location. For this reason, it is always good to turn on the location on your phone. Remember also that the ADM on your android phone should be activated for this to work. Therefore, always check that this is the case. You can do this by selecting “Security” under “Settings” then scrolling down to “Device administrators”. You should be able to see whether the manager is activated or not. Once you are logged in to the ADM, you will be able to see three options: Ring, Lock, and Delete. The first option works if you believe the phone is just nearby. Use the other two options if you would like to secure your personal data.

Step 2: Use Google Maps

Using your computer, visit the Location History on Google Maps. This feature is usually enabled by default on all the android phones. You will also have to sign in using your Google account’s details. Using the calendar you will see, select the number of days you lost your phone. You will then see a “Show timestamps” option, which you should click to view the latest location of your device. The Google map will then zoom in to that location.

Step 3: Use The Lost Android App

First, you need this app on your phone. In the event that you lose it, visit Lost Android’s official website and sign in using the Google account details. You can then tap on “View on map” to see the location of the device.

Step 1: Use Find My iPhone App

Using another iPhone device or iCloud on a web browser, open the app and sign in using your Apple ID. You should be able to see your phone on the list of devices just below the map. Tap it to reveal its location. If whoever took the phone powered it off, the app will show you its last known location. At the bottom center of the screen, you will be able to see an “Actions” icon. If you tap it, you will see three options: Play Sound, Lost Mode, and Erase iPhone. The first and third are similar to ring and delete options in ADM respectively. For Lost Mode, you can lock the phone using a distinct code. Even if it had been powered off, it will lock on power-up and you will be notified via email. This means you can then be able to track it.

Step 2: Visit Local Law Enforcement

Visit your local law enforcement offices and report the stolen device. Someone might have picked it up and turned it over so checking may just yield positive results. Remember that if you are filing a report for the lost device, you may be asked its IMEI/IMEID number so it’s always good to have it saved somewhere.
